If you want to be a millionaire, stop spending like one

I’m a millionaire and I still live like I’m broke. My house is a 1 bedroom apartment. My car has 240k miles on it and will turn 17 years old this year. Both meet my basic needs so I feel no need to upgrade at this point.

Some people may think I live a life of deprivation, but those same people would have to save up or go into debt to take a vacation whereas I could take an expensive international trip today if I wanted to, or go out and buy a Ferrari in cash (if they let me set foot in the dealership, haha).

While some people prioritize living a luxury lifestyle – big house, expensive car, designer clothes, I prioritize buying my freedom instead

So should you.

In 20 years, you won’t care about the fancy car or clothes that are probably long gone. You will care about the free time you have to spend with people you love, doing things you want to do. The money you invest now will be the money funding your lifestyle in 20 years
